World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades can be used to boost the stats of a particular
item upgrading. Based on the type of
upgrade item, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, depending on the upgrader and the type of upgrade you choose to perform. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.
It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is limited to the lower levels). The average level of an item can be found on the character sheet.
When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment, players can compare the item level. It's an indicator of the
item upgrader kit's damage and quality. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when looking at the inventory of a vendor.
On PC, you are able to see the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are a few theories about how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory suggests that the item level is calculated by an equation that determines the worth of the stats of an item really are. It takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets increase the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
However, this is not the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, as the level of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Item stats are a big element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to motivate players to explore other weapons. The stat mods of an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's skill.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers will be upgraded several times at higher prices.
Affixes can also be used to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to provide items with extra damage or other special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by naming them.
All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other options for rerolling.
Players can choose to upgrade an item with a specific stat, or reroll the affixes. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will have at least one stat within the range, unless they are an exclusive item, or an
Best item upgrade that has a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could change is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the affixes, or choose which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item basis, and the item compare interface will not show all the stats that could be that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player can increase the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are generated by loot, and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is especially beneficial for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each level of the item and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on their material type) to add another 40 luck, or to increase the luck of the item to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.
The rate of success of an
upgrade item is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing can't be greater than 100%..
The luck of an item may affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has an initial success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases that chance by five percent.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects can be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the
Item Upgrader CORE client config.
