Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item are improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases a stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the effectiveness of your armor and weapons. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways through the use of upgrade components or increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their stats.
Upgradable items can be found throughout the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The primary method to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components which are components that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has slots to upgrade and some require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer general bonuses.
There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be placed on any kind of equipment, and offer less than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They offer a range of bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.
Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as Blocked if you don't have enough of or.
The amount of upgrade components needed for a given item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of an
upgrade item increases depending on the level of the upgrade and its rarity, however it can be reduced by various methods, including purchasing upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.
Nearly all weapons can be upgraded by an upgrade to a prefix like an insignia or rune, and many can be upgraded with a suffix upgrade. These upgrades change the name of the item, adding an adjective, like 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the noninscribable wands, foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any mods.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to convey visual information. They move to grab the viewer's eye and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language, making them more effective in conveying the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also increase the retention of messages by creating an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph increases a stat's value by a specific amount. This is displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that a glyph could enhance a stat by but not the amount it actually improves it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the item you are admiring.
The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without dismantling them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to another piece of equipment by utilizing the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you are looking to remove a glyph from a piece of then you'll need to salvage it using an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is installed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be retrieved using the glyph shards.
A glyph added to an item could cause it to be unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you take it down. You can also place a glyph on your equipment to increase its value. For example the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly rather than all at one time. This is useful for players who take a lot damage from enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes that are placed on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from various sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens are also a good way to reroll weapon stats and can be upgraded to provide better damage or other perks.
Rerolled items do not appear in the menu of
item upgrades, but they are still able to be upgraded. By pressing the "upgrade button", you can recycle these items that have been rerolled. This will change the layout of the
item upgrading's window, and allow up to six items be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined based on the item's rarity and also its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls roll the percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.
A reroll is a good option for upgrading an item, but players must be aware that it could lower the overall ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls required to raise it to the final level. This lowering effect is most effective for Diadems and rings, which have no other options for raising ilvls.
Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's more fair to allow players to pay for it with cash or food items, which will allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend too much time. However, paid rerolls are not something the developers want to implement at this time in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to include an ability to change races in the near future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to level up an upgrade for an item. The most effective method to level up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This increases the upgrade value for any stat. The second is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which increases the healing or damage of a particular stat. In addition there is the possibility to upgrade the base
item upgrader mod to a higher upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
When upgrading your items It is crucial to remember that upgrades aren't always planned. In the majority of cases the best roll will be derived from glyphs, however there are also possibilities for more or unique rolls. Additionally, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item which means that if you upgrade a rare or unusual item to an exceptional item type you will have a chance to achieve a higher iLevel.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item will be at the highest level on its upgrade track and unlock a bonus effect.
