WoW Upgrades - The
Item level Upgrade Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for the latter due to the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the
item upgrader mod, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be bought by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a The button will display a preview of an
item upgrader mod's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require several methods that are both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that same item level will cost less, even when they are part of a different gear set.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few choices. Flightstones are an
item upgrade that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific
Best item upgrade level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
