Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary
Mulliner Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit has designed a unique keycase to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company. Made from Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it comes with a flying 'B' paperweight, a set of keys and a brochure featuring never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

Function
The Bentley Mulsanne key comes with an opening button for the trunk, as well as a button that starts the car. The key also has a switch for turning on the parking brake. Personalisation
Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to essentially design their own car. Customers sit at a set of images called "mood stations" and pick a collection of photos - from scenic views to sporting events that inspire them to design their own. As each selection is made, a pattern emerges which shows the design and color preferences for the personalized Bentley.
The guests are given the keys in a case designed by hand that contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. Keys can also be fitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps which light the door's opening pathway with the owner's name and/or emblem as they are approaching the vehicle.
Bentley estimates it takes approximately 500 man-hours to craft and put together the typical Mulsanne. The key to this time-consuming effort is a deliberate refusal to embrace modern tech. The Crewe factory workers don't use a machine to space perfectly matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. Drivers are required to park their vehicles manually, rather than relying on sensors built into the vehicle to guide them into perpendicular and parallel spaces.
The event also saw
