What is Pragmatism?
People who are pragmatic focus on actions and solutions that are likely to be successful in the real world. They don't get caught up by a set of idealistic theories that may not be achievable in practice.
This article outlines three of the principles of pragmatic inquiry. It also provides two case studies of the organization processes of non-governmental organizations. It argues that the pragmatic approach to research is a useful approach to study these dynamic processes.
