Saab Key Programming
Saab cars manufactured since 1994 have an immobilizer feature that is based on codes for keys. The addition of a key requires a new transponder and special programming. This is usually done by the dealer using a Tech2 diagnostic tool.

Transponder key

Jumpstarting the battery
The majority of people have a set of jumper cables in their trunks to use in an emergency however, jumping a battery in newer cars might not be the best idea. These vehicles are equipped with a number of digital and electronic devices that communicate with each other. A surge in voltage while a battery is hooked up to another could cause damage to the components and render your vehicle undriveable.
Start the vehicle you are using and allow it to run for around two minutes before you connect the cables to the one that is disabled. Attach the red clip to the positive terminal of the good battery.
