Albums
Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also a few compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.
Before the formation of Toto the band, members performed sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics due to the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group, and the band held auditions for a new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in the year 1986.

In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live album titled Falling in Between, which included recordings from the tour and an interview with the group.
