Albums
Toto's discography includes 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done work with other artists and on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.
Before Toto was formed, members of the band did session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for lacking hit singles. In 1985 the lead singer Fergie Frederiksen quit the group and the band held auditions to find a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark its 20th anniversary. The band went through old recordings and tapes to create the unique record. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto began the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
