The buggies that parents choose can reveal a lot about the parenting style they follow. A pram can be a status symbol, as well as an investment.

When Kari Boiler returned from Amsterdam with 15 Bugaboo Frogs stacked in her Manhattan Beach garage, she had a grand plan for them. She wanted to get them in the hands of famous parents.

What is a single infant stroller buggy?

A single buggy is a small four-wheeled carriage, which is usually pulled by one horse. Amish people use it a lot, and they also call it"a sleigh. A cheap single pushchair buggy is a favorite for families because it provides easy mobility for the entire family.

Since 1998, Phil&teds has been at forefront of technological advancement. Our stroller and double kit(tm) bundles offer an array of options that can be used in all family situations.

Go(tm) is a simple and easy single person buggy buggy that grows with your family; sport(tm) will secure your pocket by acting as a fantastic single buggy from day dot; and voyager(tm) can be modified to take two (or even three!) - all done in the footprint of one buggy!

Types of single buggies

A light buggy is an ideal option for parents who travel often, plan to use public transport with their child or take a trip on vacation. They typically weigh less than 6kg and fold up compactly, so they can easily be carried in the overhead compartments of flights. They are also easily maneuverable making them perfect for city travel. Many come with a sunshade and raincover, which are worth investing in to keep your baby entertained at any time!

A jogger's buggy is large with BMX wheels and is specifically designed to exercise. It has a sturdy suspension that can absorb the bounces, bumps and other effects of off-road use. Jogger buggies can be difficult to steer since the front wheel could swivel, so it's important to lock this when mounting the kerbs or crossing roads.

Some buggies are reverse-able. This allows the seat to face either backward or forward (also known as a parent-facing). This is great for infants who are irritable in their car seats and prefer looking at their parents. Some models are only forward-facing, therefore they're best for older children who don't like being interrupted.

There are also tandem buggies which can accommodate two children of the exact same age. This is a great option for newborns or twins who are similar in age, but it can be difficult to maneuver, particularly in a small space. Some tandem buggies have a reclining mechanism in each seat, meaning that your toddler can lay flat while you push them.

The best single buggy for you will depend on your lifestyle, budget and family size. Look for a light buggy that includes a seat that can be used right from the beginning. If you're looking to protect your budget, go with a single stroller that can be converted into a double buggy if the time comes. phil&teds developed the world's first inline buggy, and they provide a wide selection of double kit and stroller bundles that will aid you in this.

A single buggy purchase

A new buggy can be expensive. The majority of pushchairs with bassinets for newborns cost more than PS700 which is an enormous amount for parents on limited incomes.

A majority of families end up buying at least two buggies, except if they live in a huge city that has easy access to public transport, or have an enormous car boot. They also often spend their weekends in muddy parks. A sturdy buggie that can be used on rough terrain, transport heavy loads and expand with your family, and another lightweight travel buggy for use on holidays or in tight spaces like public transport and busy streets.

Our suggestion is to purchase one that you like and then, if your little one grows older and you'll need a double, just sell it on and re-buy the buggy you want. So you don't end up with a gimmick that isn't what you really need.

Double buggy: Buy one

When buying a double buggy there are a lot of things to think about, from the amount it will cost to the type of recline positions the seats offer. Also, be aware of whether you require a large basket or the type of suspension that the buggy has. It is also worth considering what features you want the buggy to include such as sunshades, rain covers and snack trays.

There's a wide selection of double buggies available on market and the right one for you will depend on the person who will be using it, your lifestyle and budget restrictions. If you're expecting twins or have an infant and toddler or a baby, you may require a pushchair that can adapt to the expanding family. UPPAbaby Vista V2 is a perfect example of this, with 30 different seating options to suit all different ages. It can be used as a single stroller from birth, and later converted into a side by side model when your children get older. It is also possible to use it with a third child, if the Ride-Along Piggyback Board is added making it a very versatile option.

Another great choice is the Mountain Buggy Duet V3.2. This is one of the slimmest side-by-side double buggies available and has dimensions that are nearly as small as a single sit and stand stroller buggy. It has two world-facing seats with independently reclining options that can be changed to a flat position. It can be adjusted so that it can fit two carrycots, cocoons or two baby car seats.

The handle can be folded by using just one hand via the twist mechanism. It's also lightweight and, while it might not be as compact as the Cybex Gazelle S, it's still small enough to fit in most car boots or behind doors at home. It features a smooth footbrake as well as good suspension, making it easy to push over rough surfaces. The seats are padded and the harness straps are strong and comfortable for your children to sit in.
