If you're on a tight budget and don't want a stroller that doubles into car seat carriers The Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It comes with a simple one-step foot brake that's flip flop comfortable.
It's easy to push and it feels solid when you are walking along woodland paths and kerbs. Plus, it's a dream to fold.
1. Babyzen YOYO2
The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned its reputation as the ultimate stroller that is lightweight, suitable for urban dwellers as well as jet-setters. This is due to its nimble maneuverability and fold that fits into an aeroplane's overhead luggage. The latest version has independent suspension on all 4 wheels constructed of Hytrel elastomer. This allows it to effortlessly traverse all types and terrains'.
The curved fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 and 6months of colour pack are combined to create a sleek pushchair that has a soft elegant design. The frame itself weighs just over a kilogram and is so light that you can easily lift it from the box (and do so one-handed).
The hood, for instance is able to snap onto the YOYO2 in a calm way. It is also machine washable up to 30 degrees, which helps to prevent staining caused by smushed and mashed carrot puffs and rice cakes. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as prams. It could also be converted into a stroller after 6 months with the YOYO connect to additional chassis.
2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore
Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is an excellent choice for parents seeking a versatile stroller. It transforms from a stroller to a wagon by simply flipping the handle, meaning parents can pick the mode they prefer for their journey. The wagon is able to accommodate one or two children from 6 months to 5 years old. It has a large storage basket that will hold all your needs while on the go.
The Xplore also features dual canopies that rotate from the front to the back, offering ample sun protection for all family members. It also has a footwell that is not as large or deep as other wagons, so it may not be suitable for longer excursions or for napping.
The frame on the Xplore is solid and sturdy, although it does not have the same flexibility as other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the competition and it doesn't secure when folded. It is easy to move, though, and it can fit through narrow 28-inch doors.
3. Delta Children LX Side by Side
This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent choice for parents looking for an affordable second stroller for their travels. It scored a dazzling score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and size folded which means it's lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to put into a car trunk or closet. It also features a multi-position reclined seat and a cup holder for the parent. Other important features include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.
In our test of the push and turn it performed better than most of the other strollers of a similar price we test, but it's not the most comfortable to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades are among the smallest we tested, offering only direct overhead coverage and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a significantly larger canopy.
It took us less than 3 minutes to assemble the Delta with a manual. None of the parts required tools. However, it is missing some essential features we believe you should consider non-negotiable in a double stroller like a large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.
4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1
The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's newest pushchair, and is advertised as a travel system for urban use. It is designed to carry babies from birth to approximately 3.5 years old, and can be converted between a seat and a carrycot with a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a light Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in-car-base and a reversible car seat.
It is really easy to manoeuvre and the one-hand reclining of the seat and the huge shopping basket make it simple for parent-tots to get the child in and out quickly. Despite being a narrow pushchair it handled the bumps of everyday life well and went through doorways without a hitch.
The front wheels can to be locked in a forward position or rotate. This is useful for navigating through rough terrain. We let the front wheels to rotate on our walk along a stony path. It handled this reasonably well, even though it felt slightly bumpier.
5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,
Baby Jogger is a household name for their 3-wheeler, all-terrain jogging pushchairs, but they also make a good assortment of strollers with four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most popular model. It is simple to use and folds down small enough to fit in the car boot, even with the carrycot attached.
It is heavier than the other strollers we've tried, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber it feels sturdy and well-made. It maneuvers expertly across different types of terrain. It's easy to move, even when loaded with two kids and shopping bags.
The carrycot and seat both come with hoods with pull-down sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are sturdy and waterproof, in contrast to other prams hoods which can be blown back onto toddlers' faces.
It's not the biggest of storage space, however it does come with a huge basket that's large enough to fit a changing bag as well as plenty of groceries. You can also connect it with a Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies up to 20 pounds (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you are looking for a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.
6. Nuna Mixx Next
When the Nuna Mixx first came onto the scene, it instantly captured the hearts of parents all over the world. It's a stroller made of aluminum that will be with you throughout your baby's first years and beyond. It has a number of distinctive features like the possibility of flipping the seat between parent and world-facing, a large UPF 50+ canopy that has an eye-shade that flips out and a spacious basket as well as an adjustable handlebar.
The wheels are durable and foam-filled which minimises punctures. The chassis is equipped with built-in suspension that eases the pain of rough terrain. Our tester found it smooth to push and was able to maneuver it through tight streets with ease.
It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It also stands and can be trolleyed for easier transport in the boot of your car or down the stairs at home. The travel system comes available with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors included. The brakes have only one action and are colour coded. They also are compatible with flip-flops.
7. Babyzen Duet
This budget
single pushchair is surprisingly easy to handle and comes with an excellent dual suspension system, one-hand fold and a convenient carry strap. It's also lightweight and durable. The seat can be reclined in several positions. It comes with a built-in double-breathable mattress that can be used from birth.
The canopy/seat has two large sun visors, which can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro and could awaken napping babies.
The Duet is a angled stroller that can accommodate twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can be facing each other or can turn around and face the parents, theoretically reducing sibling disputes over who gets to sit with dad and mom. It comes with a large bottle holder, gear tray snack tray, and the ability to change mats.
