Single PushchairsIf you're looking to save money and don't require a stroller that doubles up as car seat carriers The Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It features a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.
It's easy to push, and it feels solid when traversing kerbs and woodland trails. It's also easy to fold.
1. Babyzen YOYO2
The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a reputation as the most stroller that is light, ideal for city dwellers as as jet-setters. This is thanks to its super nimble maneuverability and fold that fits into the overhead baggage of an aircraft. This latest version boasts independent suspension on all four wheels, made of Hytrel Elastomer, which allows it to effortlessly navigate across all types of surfaces and terrain'.
The frame's base YOYO2 frame, curved fabric bassinet and 6+ month color pack combine to form a stylish pushchair that's easy to look at and has a subtle but elegant design and stylish branding. The base frame weighs less than a kilogram, and is so light it is able to be lifted from the box using just one hand.
The hood, for example, snaps on the YOYO2 in a reassuring way. It is machine washable at 30deg which helps prevent stains caused by smushed carrot puffs and rice cakes. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as an infant
stroller single. It can also be transformed to a stroller by 6 months using the YOYO connect to additional chassis.
2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore
The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great choice for parents who want a stroller that can be used in a variety of ways. The Evenflo Pivot can be converted from a stroller into the wagon by turning the handle. Parents can then select the best mode for their adventure. The wagon is able to accommodate two or more children between 6 months to five years old. It has a huge storage basket that will hold everything you need when you are on the move.
The Xplore also features dual canopies that rotate from the front to the back, offering ample sun protection for all family members. It also has a footwell that is not as deep or wide as other wagons, which means it may not be ideal for long excursions or for napping.
The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy but it does not flex as much as some other wagons we test. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the other models, and it does not secure when folded. It is easy to move, however, and fits through doors that are narrower than 28 inches.
3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side
This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents who are looking for a secondary stroller that's affordable. It scored highly in our Strollers and Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions. This means it's lightweight, compact when folded, and easy to move and store in a trunk for your car. It also features an adjustable recline seat that can be adjusted in multiple positions and an integrated cup holder for the parent. Other important features include two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling and 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.
It did better in our push and turn test than many of the other strollers we tested, but was nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has are among the ones we tested the smallest, providing only direct overhead coverage and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have significantly larger canopy sizes.
It took us under 3 minutes to assemble the Delta with a manual. The parts are all non-required and required tools. However, it's missing some essential features that we think you should consider non-negotiable in a double stroller for example, a larger basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.
4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1
The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's latest pushchair, and is advertised as a travel system for urban use. It is designed to take babies from birth to approximately 3.5 years, converting easily between a carrycot and seat with only a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats and comes with the light Mico 30 infant car seat, stay-in-car base, and a reversible car.
It's a breeze to manoeuvre and the one-hand reclining of the seat as well as the super large shopping basket make it simple for parents to get their child in and out of the seat quickly. This compact pushchair can handle every day bumps and doors with ease.
The front wheels are able to be locked in a forward position or pivot. This is helpful when navigating rough terrain. On our walk along the stony path we allowed them to swivel and it handled this fairly well, though it did appear more bumpy than the other models that we tested.
5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2
Baby Jogger is best known for its 3-wheeled all-terrain, strollers for jogging. But they also manufacture a vast selection of pushchairs with four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most loved model. It folds easily and can fit in the boot of a car even with the carrycot attached.
It is heavier than the other strollers that we test, but since it has composite wheels made of rubber, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It's a breeze to maneuver across all kinds of terrain, and it's easy to carry, even when loaded with two children and shopping bags.
The seat and carrycot both have hoods that can be pulled down to reveal sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are durable and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams, which can be blown back into toddlers' faces.
It does not have much storage space, but it comes with a large basket deep enough to hold a changing bag or plenty of groceries. It can also be connected with a Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for infants up to 20 lb (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you are looking for a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, the City Tour 2 is an excellent choice.
6. Nuna Mixx Next
When the Nuna Mixx first appeared on the scene it stole the hearts of parents all over the world. It's a frame made of aluminum that will be with you throughout your baby's initial days and beyond. It has a number of notable features, including the ability to flip the seat between parent and world-facing, a huge UPF 50+ canopy, a flip out eyeshade as well as a large basket and adjustable handlebar.
The chassis comes with a suspension system built-in that reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are constructed of tough foam and reduce punctures. It was easy to push and our tester was able manoeuvre the vehicle through tight streets.
It folds in just four steps and automatically locks with no fuss. It is also able to stand and be trolleyed for easier transport in the car's boot or down the stairs at home. The travel system is also included with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors included. The brakes are simple to use, using a
single standing stroller color coded and flip-flop-friendly.
7. Babyzen Duet
This budget-friendly pushchair is simple to use and comes with a great dual suspension. It can be folded using just one hand, and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It is also lightweight and robust. The seat can be reclined into many different positions. It also comes with a double breathable mattress that is suitable for babies.
The canopy/seat comes with two large sun visors, which can be either fixed or flipped out. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't ideal since it's not as silent as Velcro, and can wake up napping babies.
The Duet is a side-byside stroller and can be set up to take twins or siblings (up to 22kg max per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and even works with a few carrycots.
