1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ is a well-built robot with an enormous dirt compartment that it automatically empties into the docking station once full. It will then begin cleaning after it's recharged. It comes with a large external dirt compartment that automatically fills up into the docking station once it's full and resumes cleaning when it's recharged. It's efficient in getting rid of medium and small debris, but has trouble with pet hair.
Like the i3 EVO, this robot utilizes iRobot's iAdapat 3.0 navigation software to help you navigate your home and remember certain rooms for future cleaning. It also comes with an option that automatically adjusts the height of its head and suction power depending on the floor type it's working on.
During our testing it did a great job on both hard floors and carpets with low pile, picking the majority of the smaller, harder debris we dropped on each surface while taking on the larger crumbs of cereal we deposited on the carpet. It's a little less adept at dealing with pet hair than some of the best models we've tested however, and it might become stuck on toys or cords when you don't pick them up before you send the robot to clean.
In our tests, it was clean for about 90 minutes before the battery went out and then returned to its base. This is better than the i7+ or s9+, which was able to run for just 60 minutes in our tests. The i3+ EVO has a solid track record of remembering its previous run, which we've not seen with other robots.
The i3+ EVO's garbage bin has capacity of 1.5 quarts which is less than the majority of the other robots we test. It has a release button on one side of the bin that you press to empty it. You can also empty the bin using the docking station's Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal system, which sucks up the contents of the internal dust bin and then empty it into the station's outside dirt bag.
2. Eureka Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro offers outstanding cleaning effectiveness, with a suction rate of 5,500pa and mopping technology that can get to work in a matter of minutes. Its integrated 770ml dustbin and water tank reduce the frequency of emptying, and its large capacity allows for longer mopping sessions. Its 240 minute duration makes it an excellent option for homes with a larger size. The robot's advanced navigation technology, which is based on PreciSense LiDAR mapping, ensures that it covers the entire room and is able to maneuver around obstacles.
The Q5 Pro is unlike some other robot vacuums which require Wi-Fi to operate. However, its battery life is quite short, so it is necessary to recharge it regularly in case you are planning to use the robot for a long period of time. It is easy to maintain and comes with dirt bags which can be easily replaced and a straightforward maintenance schedule. It's also cheaper than the more expensive rivals.
The Q5 Pro can be a bit finicky when is dealing with pet hair and heavier debris, but it's a great product overall. In our tests, it removed more debris on bare floors and low-pile carpet than the Dirt Devil Endura Max, however, it had a difficult time getting into tight corners and recessed areas of high-pile carpet. It's also a lot more maneuverable, and the filtration system does a great job of trapping allergens. The straight suction floorhead of the vacuum is low for bulky or medium-sized debris. There are other minor disadvantages that include its lack of sophisticated features and a the limited remote control features. Eureka Q5 Pro, despite its limitations, is a great choice for those looking for a basic robot vacuum with mopping capabilities.
3. SwitchBot K10 Plus
If you're looking to purchase a smart vacuum cleaner that has the capability to also mop, the SwitchBot K10 Plus is an excellent choice. Its small size allows it to reach places that larger robots cannot like corners or under furniture. It also features an advanced LiDAR sensor that is able to detect obstacles and avoid collisions.
During testing during our testing, the K10 Plus quickly and efficiently cleaned up pet hair, crumbs and other debris from our carpeting and hardwood flooring. It also did a great job of getting into tight places such as under our bed or around the chair's legs. In addition to vacuuming, it can also perform mopping tasks with a separate cloth or wet wipe. There is a small package of wet wipes that comes with the K10 Plus to get you started.
The app for the K10 Plus is intuitive and simple to use. It offers several customization options such as setting a no disruption time, adjusting the map layout and setting a schedule for when you'd like it to clean. The app tracks the life expectancy of accessories such as the side brush, sensor and bin filter. This lets you determine when it is time to replace the items.
The battery life of the K10 Plus is also pretty impressive. We could get about three hours of cleaning out of it on a full charge. It also recharges quickly. Once it's completed with its work it releases the dirt into a large dustbin located in its base station. It can be quite loud, but it's not as loud compared to other robot vacuums that we've examined.
4. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ belongs to the high-end S Series of the manufacturer that is above models like the iRobot Roomba J7 or iRobot Roomba i3. It is very effective on various floor surfaces and is able to maneuver around furniture. Its main brushroll is equipped with counter-rotating scrapers made of rubber that effectively remove most debris including pet hair from carpets and bare floors. Its real-world suction power is impressive for a robot vacuum, but isn't as strong as the suction power of high-end models like the Roborock S8.
The Roomba S9+'s design is definitely elegant with a body that is D-shaped that looks much more modern than its circular counterparts. This alternative shape also helps it to get into corners and along edges more easily. It can still create dust in these areas if you don't spin the corner brush fast enough. However its powerful motor makes up for it.
In iRobot's tests in the lab, the S9+ picked up kitty-litter and pet hair easily. It also did exceptionally well on hard floors, as it utilized its powerful motor to power through the majority of debris, and clean all edges and corners effortlessly. Its vSLAM-based advanced technology and Imprint Smart Mapping technology also made it one of the best navigators we've tested, with a rock-solid grasp of the floorspace it can even locate its ways under sofas or beds with draped valances over them.
The iRobot App makes it easy to set up and operate. You can choose which functions you'd like to enable when you set up the robot, or hold off until you've had familiar with it. Its internal bin does need to be empty manually every now and then when it gets full, though the process takes less than 15 seconds, and it's quite quiet.
5. Roborock S8
The latest version of the Roborock S Series is a powerful robot vacuum and mop combination with a comprehensive feature set. Like its predecessors, it utilizes a LIDAR sensor and camera system for navigation and obstacle avoidance. The mapping system creates an interactive 3D map of your home that you can view through the app, and it allows you to define no-go zones, or certain rooms for spot cleaning.
