The machine doesn't have some of the features present in other Breville machines, such as an automatic milk maker and a display that shows how much water or pressure is being utilized. But this doesn't mean that the Barista Express isn't a great option for coffee lovers who want to upgrade from their current home espresso machine.
This model comes with 4 portsafilters, which include both the pressurized and unpressurized versions. The machine also comes with a high-quality, convenient tamper. The tamper is adjustable to ensure that you get the right amount of pressure when making a shot. It has a couple of features which set it apart from the rest of the market. Additionally, it has a manual button which keeps the machine in pre-infusion until you press the manual button again. This is a fantastic feature that mimics how baristas work in cafes, and makes it really easy to get a great shot every time.
It also comes with a stunning steam pressure gauge and the capability to alter the power of the pre-infusion according to the extraction time. This isn't a feature that's typical on machines that are domestic however it can make a huge difference to the quality of your shots. It also features a handy window that displays the level of water so you can determine when it is time to refill.
The primary thing that differentiates this machine from the other Sage options is the fact that it comes with a dual boiler system. This allows you to make a steam while brewing this is ideal for milk-based drinks. It also comes with a PID that allows you to control temperature of the brew which is not found on many other machines. The only drawback to this is that it costs more than single boilers or heat exchanger systems.
The EB590 also comes with a variety of other features. It can be programmed so that it is turned on at a specific time, so that it's there for you at the time you want it. This is a fascinating feature that isn't available in many machines. It's a great feature for those who depend on their coffee maker in the morning to get them up.
