Saab Key Programming
Saab cars manufactured since 1994 feature an immobilizer mechanism that is based on codes for keys. Adding an extra key requires a new transponder, as well as special programming. This is usually done by the dealer with a specialized Tech2 diagnostic tool.

Transponder key
The transponder key is a piece of hardware with an electronic chip that sends a signal to car when it is put into the ignition. Once the rows and columns are soldered, it's the time to connect them to key switches. To do this, you need to place a diode across each pin on the key switch and solder it. This will protect the pins that are used for key switches from current and also prevent them from being shorted. A diode permits current to only flow in one direction. It comes with a visual indicator that is black, that shows which way current will flow.

Jump-starting the battery
A majority of people keep the set in their trunk to jump-start a car in an emergency, but it may not be a good idea for newer cars. These vehicles are equipped with a number of electronic devices and computers that communicate with one another. A voltage surge while a battery is hooked up to another can fry these components, rendering your vehicle unable to drive.
Connect the cables to the vehicle operating. Allow it to run for two minutes. Attach the red clip to the positive terminal of the good battery (it will have "POS" or "+" on it). Attach the other end of the black cable to a clean, unpainted metal surface underneath the disabled car's hood--the engine block is an ideal choice. Don't connect the black cable to the negative terminal on the dead battery because this could cause an ignition source that ignites gasoline in the engine bay.
Once the cables are connected, turn on the vehicle that has been disabled and let it run for about five minutes before you disconnect the cables in reverse order. Replacement case
