Ayo Edebiri has opened up about her awkward run-in with Jennifer Lopez as she appeared on the cover of the June issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

The Bear actress, 28, had to issue a groveling apology to Lopez, 54, in February after an old podcast episode from 2020 - in which Edebiri trashed Lopez's singing skills - resurfaced online.

Sharing the moment she personally apologized to the On The Floor hitmaker backstage at SNL, Edebiri said, 'She was very chill and nice about it.'

The actress also downplayed rumors of an ongoing feud between herself and Lopez, saying, 'That would be like Mr. Bean and Mick Jagger beefing - and I'm obviously Mr. Bean. She's JLo!'

Back in February 2020, Edebiri made an appearance on the Scam Goddess podcast and made fun of JLo's music career, calling it a 'scam'.

'I appreciate a good scam. Today, I was actually thinking about one of my favorite scams of all time, because JLo is performing at the Super Bowl halftime show,' she said.

'I think she thinks she's still good even though she's not singing for most of these songs,' she continued.

She also discussed a long-standing and unfounded rumor that Lopez had allegedly used ghost singers in the past, before accusing Lopez of injecting herself with human growth hormones to maintain her fit body and youthful appearance.

Edebiri later apologized to Lopez in person when they both appeared on SNL together.

Speaking to Variety about the apology in February, Lopez said, 'She was mortified and very sweet.

'She came to my dressing room and apologized with tears in her eyes, saying how terrible it was that she had said those things,' the Hustlers actress continued.

'She felt really badly and loved my performance because we had just done my soundcheck and she actually got to hear me perform. She was just like, "I'm so f***ing sorry, it was so awful of me."

'It's funny. I've heard similar things said about me throughout my career, KetoXplode Fondation Warentest so it really didn't affect me,' she concluded.

Last month, Edebiri placed at No. 8 in the Radio Times list of the 100 most influential people on television.

Her performance as chef Syndey Adamu in The Bear has so far won the actress a Golden Globe and an Emmy award.

Dame Pippa Harris, co-founder of Neal Street Productions described her as 'one of the most exciting comedic actor/writers of her generation,' adding that 'not only has she stolen the show in two movies (Theater Camp and Bottoms) but audiences were captivated by her dazzling performance as sous chef Sydney in The Bear'.
