The Summer Infant 3D Lite is a lightweight, feature-rich convenience stroller that folds down into a small package for easy transport and storage. It is one of the lightest strollers that we tested, and it's also one of the top budget options. It is not a good choice for an everyday stroller because it does not have a bassinet or
car seat pram seat adapter, however it is ideal for travel.
It can be used to hold the toddler comfortably. The large seat can be placed almost flat to facilitate diaper changes or naps. The 5-point harness can be adjusted into three different height positions. The storage basket is big and there's an apron for a cup on the back for parents. There is a peekaboo window on the canopy that is covered with a fabric flap and an extra zippered pocket for smaller items.
Similar to the UPPAbaby G-Luxe the stroller also steers very smoothly on smooth surfaces, but it got stuck in cracks during our testing of rough terrain. The wheels are made of plastic and vibrate more than average for our test group. It also has a smaller strap for carrying than most of our strollers tested, which means it's more difficult to carry when you're carrying a large bag or a sleeping baby.
The 3Dlite folds in just four seconds and unfolds in six. There are a few steps to the process: raising the lever in the center of the back to release the latch, pressing down the latch on the right side of the back and then lowering the handles. While these aren't the fastest or slowest times for folding and unfolding a stroller they're still fairly quick. It has handles that are a bit taller which could be an issue for shorter people.
The biggest disadvantage of the Summer Infant 3D Lite is that it does not have a full sunshade. It has a large canopy however it doesn't provide much protection to your child when walking with them facing the sunlight. It does have a retractable sun visor that can provide some protection when fully open, but it does not cover your baby's head completely.
