However, our picks and opinions are independent from USA Today’s newsroom and any business incentives. We all know Amazon is most likely going to host Prime Day 2019 sometime in July. That much is not a secret for most Prime Members. But "Bezos Nation" always keeps a tight lid on the specifics of their massive summer sale, so the jury is still out on when Prime Day will actually be. That being said, there is a pretty substantial rumor started by a PR email snafu about when Prime Day will happen this year, and I'm fairly confident this is getting closer to the truth of the sale. Do we know when Prime Day is going to be?

So, here's what happened. PR people contact people like me and my team about upcoming deals on products so we can alert our readers when something they'll love goes on sale. This one PR firm sent an email out about a vacuum sale during July 16-17 and the email mentioned Prime Day. Whether or not this is a sneak peek into the Prime Day schedule, we don't know for sure. But given that last year's sale lasted 36 hours-starting Monday, July 16 at 12 pm EST and running through July 17-it's pretty likely this is going to be roughly when Prime Day will take place. Prime Day will likely start on Monday, July 15, around 9 a.m. PST / 12 p.m. EST (because Amazon is based on the West Coast, after all). If that PR email "leak" is accurate, odds are the event will run through at least mid-day Wednesday, July 17 if not right up to midnight. Now entering its fifth year, this Prime Day promises to be bigger and bursting with more and better deals than in years past. We're expecting to see the biggest ratio of actually good deals to "deals" that aren't worth your time, and we're pumped. We're already tracking everything to do with the shopping event of the summer, and when it begins, we'll be working around the clock to hunt out the best deals and help you avoid buying a dud just because it's "on sale." We vet every deal we see on Prime Day to make sure it's not only a good product but also an actually good price drop. A lot of the time, sellers will inflate their list pricing in the days and weeks leading up to the sale, just to drop them back down to the usual price and make it look like a sale. No bueno. But our team of shopping experts will help you steer clear of the garbage and find only the best offers. Th is artic᠎le has been g᠎enerated by GSA Con᠎te nt G en᠎erat or D emover sion .

What were the best Prime Day deals last year? Prime Day 2018 was arguably the best Prime Day so far, and there were some seriously impressive deals. 0.50 cheaper than its Black Friday price. It's typically $100 and has been on sale for the past few months, fluctuating between $60-$80. We wouldn't be surprised if this is the year the Instant Pot reaches $50 on Prime Day. Is Prime Day only for Amazon shoppers? Technically, yes. You can only get Prime Day deals from Amazon, if you're a Prime member. But if you're not a fan of Amazon, you will still be able to shop a litany of other sales. Not only did Amazon manage to create a shopping holiday out of thin air (a move made to help boost sales during a traditionally slow shopping month), but it spawned a summer sale revolution. Now loads of other retailers, from the Targets and Walmarts of the world to niche brands like mattress companies and DNA testing kit makers, run their own special promotions, deals, and sales to coincide with Prime Day. Often, people will to this as Black Friday in July in an attempt to differentiate themselves from Amazon Prime Day. And we, the shoppers, get to rake in the savings. If you want to stay on top of everything Prime Day, I highly recommend following us on social and/or signing up for our newsletter. It's a shameless promotion, I know, but I just really want to give you as many useful resources as possible so you can make the most out of this shopping event and score the best deals.
