What to Do With Your Rep Kit
Rep kits are a great means to repair your gear until you are at the trailhead to have it fixed professionally. The key is knowing what to do when you require it.
Long term use of home repaired dentures may lead to more bone loss, causing irritation and sores as well as tumors and sores.
Tools
Being equipped with the right tools is critical when in the field. This kit was designed with this in mind and includes all the basic hand tools needed for repairing items on the field. The tools are made of metal and feature only a small amount of plastic to withstand use. The kit includes an elasticized canvas coalcracker tool pouch, reamer, twisted awl cutting shears, the gimlet (5MM) sinue spools made of wood, an oil bottle for the coalcracker tool oil, and a set of illustrated instructions.

Repair Patches
If you've got holes or two in your gear, consider adding adhesive patches to your
rep kit. These patches are made of an ultra-high-performance adhesive that is applied to a durable polyurethane backing that allows the tear to heal under pressure. Available in clear and colored options they offer a long-lasting protection against abrasions, moisture, saltwater, sunlight and temperatures that are extreme.
If your
starter kit avon doesn't include any of the items listed above it is possible to consider adding a water-proof Aquaseal wader sealant. This glue that is water-tight will adhere to plastics, fabric, metals and other materials for a permanent fix. It's great for repairing drysuits and may be applied while on the job. It can take up to 12 hours to cure before using your repaired equipment.
The essential field fabric kit for tents, packs, and rainwear made of silicone impregnated nylon. Includes one Clean Tape repair patch as well as an swatch of sil-nylon. Also included is a 1/4-ounce Gore-Tex Sealant & Repair Adhesive & Brush and sealant tube. Apply patch to clean smooth, smooth surface. Allow a minimum 1/2 inch overlap. Remove release paper and rub the adhesive side down using a moderate amount of pressure.
Surface preparation is crucial for successful repairs. Sunblock, acetone or oils on boots and shoes can affect adhesion. Use Seam Grip with Cotol 240 Cure Accelerator to achieve the best results.
Adhesive Patches
If you're out on the trail but don't have time for complete vulcanising repairs the patches that are self-adhesive will allow you to get back in the saddle quickly and without waiting. Apply the self-adhesive patch and apply it to the saddle.
Clean up the area that has been punctured Then apply the tube-scuffer or sandpaper to roughen the surface, which aids in gluing. Then spread a thin layer of glue over the patch that covers an area at least as big as the patch. Allow the glue to become tacky, then press the patch down with a firm pressure and hold it in place.
This kit includes two clear, adhesive-backed Tenacious Tape fabric repair patches. It also includes one quarter ounce of Seam Grip urethane sealant and repair adhesive. It is ideal for reinforcing damaged sleeping bags, rainwear and backpacks.
