The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

imageThe Q Revo is an excellent choice if you are looking for robot vacuums a robotic vacuum and mop that's priced in the middle. It offers a great mopping experience but lacks the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.

In tests, it was able to handle dry oats and dust on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard floors. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't use LIDAR to help you map your home.

1. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It is a powerful cleaner and plenty of features such as an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest schedules that are automatic to provide a hands-free and effortless experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning process at the push of a button. You can select a general clean which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as cereal and rice. Or you can choose two mappings to ensure that your home is thoroughly cleaned.

This robot vac performs well on both bare floors and carpet with a low pile. It can pick up pet hair and also suck large objects up. It doesn't lose its suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It's a challenge with carpets that are high-pile or plush however, iRobot claims that future models will be better.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that is focused on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to be able to swaddle walls and furniture. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard however we found it to be just marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also features superior filtration that blocks microscopic particles and allergens recirculating throughout your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the high price price.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to remember the arrangement of your home and vSLAM to map your interior of your home. It can then clean your entire house efficiently by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundaries so that the robot knows which areas need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a robotic that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as good as those found on higher-end models. And its mopping system is even better because its spinning pads clean your floors more efficiently than a vibrating pad.

The only issue is that it does not have an additional rubber brush for deeper cleaning, but it's an affordable cost to pay if are looking for one of the top robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is larger than many of its rivals and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the maximum dirt level.

For the mopping device, I was impressed by its ability to scrub the tough dirt off my floors. The two mopping settings that it has, which are less powerful than the high-powered modes, produce very little noise, so you can work or even watch TV without being distracted. If it comes into contact with a wall or furniture piece it gently bumps into it before moving on.

The Q Revo is unique in that it operates almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and will automatically move trash into a hidden bin. It also cleans, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app is good at nagging you only when something is in need of attention, like the water tank being empty or a scheduled vacuuming session that was cancelled due to a full dust bin.

You can also create and combine rooms to modify the way that Q Revo manages your home. That's a handy feature to have if you have several areas of the home with different flooring materials or if there's items that need to be removed frequently, like toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the top performers in my test and was able to remove debris from carpets and hardwood floors in the first attempt. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum mop cleaner robot with all the features you can wish for. It comes with a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with a self-cleaning base station that automatically empties and washes the mop pads, Robot vacuums keeping them free of germs and ready to use again. It also has a sensor that recognizes obstacles better, allowing it to avoid falling on furniture or other objects.

The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model has a sleeker, more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still large--it is more than two feet in height and depth and weighs almost four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.

This model is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it charges faster and can handle a complete cleaning of approximately 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also comes with a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that works even if you are not at home. It also has an intelligent routing feature that allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a predetermined path.

The Omni Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested because of its rotating mop pads that clean tough stains away and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is also excellent, and it increases suction when it senses carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It also has a large battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as powerful as the ones we've seen on a consumer-grade robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a premium model that offers a number of convenience features not often found on robots of this price. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, detect different flooring types, and it's one of the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These are nice features however they can push the L10s into the premium category. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners want.

Created to resemble a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish highlighted by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a large bumper, which helps protect furniture and the vacuum from damage while moving through the home. In the pane in the front is additional navigation technology in the form of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top, there's a single button that essentially serves as the on/off switch. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, and pressing it again will turn off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The center of the control panel is the circular menu which allows you to select cleaning modes, schedules, and preferences. The left and right buttons beneath the screen will open up the app's settings menu where you can modify how the L10s Ultra works with your home.
