iRobot Roomba 960

The iRobot Roomba 980, the latest in a series of top-of the-line best budget robot vacuum vacuums, is a must for best budget robot vacuum any modern home. This model is extremely powerful suction as well as it comes with a HEPA filter that'll assist anyone suffering from allergies. It also comes with an extremely powerful battery that can clean for two hours, and return to its dock automatically when the bin is full.

This technology is very effective in navigating around toys left on the floor or furniture legs that are sticking out from underneath objects. It also has a camera that snaps the Roomba back to the real world when it starts drifting from its actual location.

iRobot has also added an additional set of rollers beneath the Roomba that don't have bristles and are therefore more likely to resist knots than earlier models. They're also higher than the older rollers, and will fit better under beds and best budget robot vacuum couches with low sides and are designed to help this model navigate more easily on varying flooring types.

What sets the Roomba 980 apart from other high-end models however, is its inclusion of a new dirt detection feature that uses cameras to detect particles of dirt embedded. This is a significant improvement over the previous version that relied on the use of a sensor-driven pseudorandom cover to bounce around the room, and then clean the entire area three times at various angles.

In our tests of its performance it was found that the Roomba 980 did well on both hard flooring and carpets. It scored extremely well on carpets with a low pile, and on mid-pile. It was successful in collecting pet hair, however it struggled with the thick and long pet hair that was stuck together.

The Roomba 980 is still one of the top performing robots we've reviewed, despite these minor limitations. It's also not as expensive as top-of the-line models. It comes with many of the features you would expect from a top model, but doesn't come with all the fancy apps or home integrations you'll see in other top models.

The iRobot Roomba can be set up quickly and is ready for use immediately. After removing the pull tab for the battery and the yellow bin insert from its undercarriage, all you have to connect it to its Home Base docking station or a wall socket, press its large "Clean" button, and let it go to work. It will return to its dock when it has run out of battery or is full of trash. There are also indicators at the top of the bin that let you know when the bin is empty, or when it is in need of recharging or when it loses its Wi-Fi.image
