Counter Strike New Revealed

After weeks of rumors Valve has finally announced Counter Strike new. It's an update for CS:GO that will put the game on the Source spectrum 2 case engine and make some major visual changes.

It also comes with responsive smoke grenades and sub-tick updates for servers. It has got a lot of armchair gamers going crazy but it is a huge upgrade for the regular player.

Smokes

Counter Strike New has a major update that will alter the way smokes work in the game. The changes, which are dubbed responsive smokes, will be a game changer. Smokes will expand to fill up spaces naturally and move around different objects on the map. They will also respond to the lighting of the games, making them look more realistic. Smokes will also interact with gameplay events. This will provide new opportunities for tactical play. For instance, bullets could cause smoke to temporarily make clear sightlines, while hex grenade explosions will disperse smoke obstruction.

The biggest change to smokes is that they will be a more dynamic element of the game. Smokes in previous versions were a fixed-shaped object that had a limited ability to move and blocking. A new video shows one of the biggest improvements under the hood, referred to as sub-tick updates.

Rather than a 64-tick update every millisecond, the CS: GO will now be able to make use of sub-ticks (or as Valve calls them, "micro-ticks") to communicate with the server. Each of these tiny increments of time will be recorded by the client, and then transmitted to the server, which then send back the latest game state to players. The servers will now know the exact moment that you shot your shot and jumped, swung and other inputs.

The video does not provide all the information. However, it does explain that each piece of data sent by the client has a timestamp and that the server will gather all the data in chronological order from all players prior to sending it back. According to the video, a CS: GO server will now be able to send more than twice the data as a 64-tick server.

That means that if the game's tick rate goes up to 128 Hz, it'll be able to process your commands immediately and consistently. The micro-tick updates also reduce the time it takes to input by ensuring that the server responds to your actions without any glitches or delays.

Valve's technological improvements to the game are only the beginning. Valve is using particles and smoke that are dynamic to improve the way smoke interacts with its surroundings. It's also updating all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures, and models. All CS: GO weapons and cosmetics will also get a makeover using Source 2 tools and features.

Maps

The upcoming update for Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game as well as some classics that are being given facelifts.
