Counter Strike New Revealed
After months of rumors, Valve has finally announced
Counter Strike new. It's a major upgrade to CS:GO which will bring it onto the Source 2 engine.
It also comes with responsive smoke grenades and sub-tick updates for servers. It's got plenty of casual gamers going wild but it looks like an
incredible improvement for the average player.
Smokes
Counter Strike New has a huge update that will change the way smokes are used in the game. These changes are being dubbed as responsive smokes and will be a significant game changer. Smokes will expand to fill up spaces naturally and move around different objects on the map. They will also react to the lighting of the game, which will make their appearance more appealing and realistic. Smokes will also to interact with game events. This will open up new tactical opportunities. Bullets, for instance will push smoke in order to temporarily clear the sightlines. Hex grenade blasts can also disperse smoke occlusion.
The most significant change to smokes is that they'll be a more dynamic element of the game. In the past, smokes were a fixed form that was limited in the distance they could be pushed and how much vision it blocked. The new smokes will fill the space they are located and make it harder for players to see vision when they are in place. This is a major improvement that will make the game more exciting and will give both teams the same level of visibility.
Smokes can react to the light, weapons, and surroundings in the world space. This will make the smoke feel more realistic and allow players to utilize it in various ways to gain an advantage over their opponents. This is particularly beneficial during the chaotic 5v5 battles which are bound to occur on every map.
Smokes are no longer one-way. This was a major issue in CSGO, since it allowed players to see the location of their opponents from behind the smoke. Twistzz is a renowned CS:GO professional who believes the new system makes CS2 more fair for both teams.
Other minor changes include moving smoke particles vertically to minimize the visible edges, and updating the spectator's smoke overlay images so that they correspond to their camera's location. Finally, the expiration of smokes was updated to be more in line with the visuals of how they fade on the screen.
Loadouts
Players of CSGO can now modify their weapon selection prior to the start of every match. The updated loadout system lets players to choose the weapons that best suit their playstyle and team's strategies. The new system also brings new tactical depth to the game since players must be able to balance firepower and utility.
The CS: GO Update includes numerous other enhancements and changes in addition to the brand new loadouts. The buy menu was completely redesigned. The old buy wheel has been replaced by a customizable grid that shows all purchase options simultaneously. The grid has been populated with five pistols and five "mid-tier" weapons such as submachine guns and shotguns, and five rifles and carbines.
The new system will be simple to use and will give players more control over the weapon they choose. It will allow them to pick the weapons that fit their style of play and team tactics the best, aswell being able to experiment with different combinations. It will also allow them to test out their skills against other players' loadouts and see how they stack up.
Many players have praised the increased flexibility, while others have criticized it for straying from the core essence Counter-Strike. They have also raised concerns about how it will affect the specific loadouts for
counter strike maps and agent skins based on visibility.
Despite these criticisms however, it is important to note that the new loadout system is in its infancy, and will go through more thorough testing over the next few months. Some of these issues might be addressed in future updates. It is essential to keep up-to-date for more details.
Workshop Tools are also included in the update and can be turned on from the settings menu. This lets community contributors design weapons finishes and stickers as also maps. The update will also the players who are in violation of VAC guidelines in matches.
The new CS GO update will be released later in the summer. Players can check out the complete list of features and updates by visiting the official CS: GO site.
Sub-Tick Updates
The server updates the world of Counter-Strike in discrete intervals of time known as ticks. Valve hopes to ensure that CS: GO is fast and smooth. Even the tiniest delay can impact the accuracy of a shot. A new video reveals one of the biggest improvements under the hood, referred to as sub-tick updates.
Instead of the 64-tick update that occurs every millisecond, CS GO will now be able use sub-ticks (or as Valve calls them, "micro-ticks") to communicate with the server. The client will take note of each of these tiny increments and send them to the server. The server will then transmit the updated game state back to players. The servers will now know the exact moment that you shot your shot and jumped, swung or made other inputs.
The video doesn't cover everything. However it does state that each piece sent by the client has a timestamp and that the server will gather all the data in chronological order from all players before sending it back. According to the video a CS: GO will be capable of sending twice the data than a 64-tick CS: GO.
This means that even when the tick rate of the game is increased to 128 Hz, it will still be able to handle your commands immediately. And it's not only about increasing the tick rate also, the micro-tick updates will also reduce input lag and latency by ensuring that the server responds to your actions with no delays or glitches.
This is clearly only the start of the technical improvements Valve is making to the game. The company is using particles and dynamic smoke to enhance the way smoke interacts with its surroundings. It's upgrading all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures and models. Source 2 tools and features will be used to upgrade all CS Cosmetics and
Winter Offensive weapon case weapons.
Maps
The upcoming update for Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game, as well as some old favorites that are getting facelifts. These updates are being tested in an unspecified beta. The first set of maps comprises upgrade and touchstone maps that will not see major changes to gameplay, while others have been revamped or rebuilt using the latest Source 2 tools.
Among these, Overpass was redesigned to make use of the engine's new unified lighting system. The map's eerie underpass is now flooded with light, making the space more spacious and less crowded. In addition smoke grenades now expand dynamically to fill in spaces and interact with the new light.
Italy is another map that has been reworked. Its lighting, texture, and structure have all been greatly improved. The new version is more balanced than the predecessor that was heavily CT-oriented. In the future fans can expect to see classics like Aztec and Militia revamped.
While many of these maps are still available in other modes, they're no longer added to the competitive map pool. Train is the exception, as it has been removed from Active Duty but will still be played in tournaments. Valve has not yet confirmed whether the other maps taken from the pool will be reinstated.
Among the more controversial updates is one created by Helsingin Sanomat, Finland's national newspaper. The newspaper has been vocal in its criticism of Russia's actions towards Ukraine. The map is based off of the war-ravaged Donetsk. The map is titled de_voyna and contains a range of references to the war.
