What is an EEPROM?

What is OBDII?
Prior to recently, the majority of automobile manufacturers had their own diagnostic systems for diagnosing vehicle problems. In 1996, the government required that all cars have a standardized system to read diagnostic codes. The new system known as OBD-II uses the same diagnostic code and port system for all makes and models that are sold in the US. This means that any mechanic can quickly diagnose a problem with your vehicle by plugging it into the specific tool.
The OBD-II detects a variety of issues within the engine and other parts with a standard diagnostic plug. The information is stored in the car's computer for later analysis. The system is then able to identify and repair any faults before damaging the car in a significant way. Technicians are able to connect to the OBD-II port with a scan tool, which will display the error codes in all their entirety and indicate what part of the system they originated from.
Scan tools have more computing capacity than code readers and can read more types of error codes. They also display live data graphs, and store data that can be later analyzed. Some tools are capable performing complex tasks like changing the programming of an ECU or providing performance-enhancing options. These tools are employed by auto technicians who are professionals and are generally more expensive than scanners that are merely scanning.
When connecting a scan tool to the OBD II port, it will recognize the protocol it is using, and communicate with the vehicle by using the correct pins. There are a variety of protocols. The most common include SAE J1850 (KWP2000) which is used by Ford and certain GM cars ISO 14230-4, utilized in various European and Asian vehicles, and CAN. Some scan tools tell you exactly what the code is referring to. Others will simply provide the code, and you'll need to conduct some research on the internet to figure out what it means.
What is CAS unit?
The CAS module is a
