Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet format of previous albums. It was a more ferocious, consistent effort that had an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. Its more punk-rock sound reflected the maturation of the group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability on the drums and an improved, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard work was as well more refined, more precise and less akin to previous recordings.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam which was released as a two-CD set titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
