Vacuuming
The Combo Essential features a powerful 4-Stage Cleaner that vacuums and mop in one move. This unit can reach places that are difficult to reach, such as under the couch. It uses smart navigation to clean in neat rows for wall-towall cleaning and to avoid falling down steps, while sensors assist navigate around furniture. Clean Base Auto-Fill Docks empty debris for up to 60 days, and refills liquid for autonomous cleaning. It's also compatible with more cleaning products than any other 2-in-1.
The roomba combination is also a powerful mop, but it is lacking some of the more advanced features that make Roomba j7+ an outstanding sweeper. If it detects a moist surface it switches from sweeping mode to mopping mode. A small robot arm raises a small water tank/dustbin combination, and a new pad slides into the cleaner when you hit a button.
Its navigation was in line with the top iRobot robots in my tests and it was able to make good progress even when the route wasn't entirely well-defined. It's not the most efficient at avoiding obstacles, however it was pretty quick to identify and maneuver around larger objects such as socks and toys that could get in its way.
The app allows you to alter your schedule. You can create a specific cleaning path and create Keep Out Zones (or Clean Zones) that direct the robot in the right direction. It also shows the actions it has taken and health status. You can also pair it with Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant enabled devices to provide voice control. The smart platform of iRobot automatically updates the Combo's software, and adds new features and capabilities in real-time.

Object Detection

They also make use of sensors to detect carpets and rugs. They then adjust their cleaning settings in accordance with the situation, helping prevent wet messes. They have an automatic dirt sensor that informs the robot when to stop and return for more cleaning.
Smart Mapping allows Roomba to map your home seven times faster, name rooms so that you can begin cleaning more quickly and also to customize Keep Out Zones and Cleaning Zones. You can control your robot using voice commands or use the app in conjunction with Alexa Siri or Google Assistant.
Roomba can recognize and avoid more than 80 common objects, including power cords, shoes backpacks, socks pet toys toilet bowls, cat litter boxes, and other floor dangers. Plus with Precision Vision Navigation, your iRobot Combo j7+ identifies and avoids solid pet waste.
You can view the history of cleaning done by your robot, including maps and images. You can select the Dirt Detective option to prioritize cleaning the most soiled areas first. You can also look up an estimate of the time to know the length of time your

Of course, with any smart home device that collects and manages data on your space, you have to be comfortable with the idea of giving away personal information. In our tests, we've questioned each company whose products we review about safeguards for this sensitive information. iRobot states that it doesn't sell customer data, and it outlines the Privacy Principles on its website.
Navigation
The Roomba Combo utilizes Imprint Smart Mapping technology to learn and map your floorplan, and then re-maps it as required. Once a room is mapped, you can set cleaning preferences for the specific space from the iRobot Home App and it will then automatically clean that area during subsequent missions. Roomba also offers Dirt Detective, which automatically prioritizes your most dirty rooms for the most frequent cleaning or mopping. Its PrecisionVision Navigation can recognize and eliminate objects such as charging cables, shoes, socks and pet toys. This feature can help you save time when trying to complete a task.
Battery Life
The Combo J7+ is powered with a lithium-ion battery, which is powerful enough to clean your home. Its water and dust bin tank hold 400 and 200 ml respectively, and the robot features a high-efficiency filtration system that captures dirt particles and stop them from getting back to your flooring. It also works with iRobot's apps and voice assistants, making it simple to control the robot using your smartphone or other devices.
Another great feature is its ability to snap pictures of objects, which helps the Combo j7+ to avoid those objects on future cleaning runs. iRobot however, decided not to include an automatic mop pad cleaning, a feature we've seen on recent premium robotic cleaners. This isn't a major issue, but it would've been good to see this included on the Combo J7+. The Combo J7+ comes with a great warranty and is easy to use.
