Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon Brothers
Zeus, lord of the skies, is a gregarious and paternal god who has an inflated ego. He is clever, dazzling and has a tremendous capacity of leadership.
He oversees the kingship as well as the sky, lightning and thunder. He also commands the sea, earthquakes and metals. His brother Hades is the lord of the underworld.
How did they become Gods?
The Greeks developed an elaborate mythology that was a blend of early Greek culture as well as pre-Greek Mediterranean beliefs and other cultures they interacted with as they conquered and spread throughout their territories. This was especially true when it came to their gods. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades often had very similar personalities, stories, and depictions. This could be due to artistic conventions or the fact that the brothers were close, or the different stories that were told in different regions.
Zeus was the first Olympian to take on Cronus the father of their children. In fear that one of his children would succeed him, Cronus swallowed Zeus' sisters and brothers at birth. His wife Rhea was capable of sneaking out of the womb and save her son, and Zeus was the only child of Cronus to live.
When the Titans were defeated, Zeus and his brothers divided power between them. Zeus ruled the skies, while his brother Poseidon controlled the seas.
Hades was born into the worst of his siblings and he was the king of the Underworld. Hades is often seen as a ghastly, ominous character who inspires terror and fear in all who come in contact with him. Cerberus is often seen alongside him, the three-headed canine who guards his territory. He also wears a headgear called the Helm of Darkness, and his weapon is the bident that resembles the trident of Poseidon.
The ancient Greeks viewed the underworld as more of a spiritual realm than a hell-like place. Hades was tasked with guarding the souls of mortal men and women who died in order to ensure that divine justice was served for their lives. He is also responsible for creating life and providing rain to those who need it.
Zeus is king of heavens and leader of the Olympian Gods. He is often depicted with a beard and an axe in his hand. He is a god of strength with a tan-colored complexion. The beard and hair of his are light brown and the robe he wears is loose that shows his musclebound body. The trident is his weapon of choice, and he often carries an axe.
What do they have to do with them?
Zeus and Poseidon share some similarities However, they are distinct. Each has their own powers and strengths that help them fulfill their roles within the pantheon. Zeus is king of the Gods and rules over the skies. Poseidon controls the ocean and Hades rules the underworld.
Both brothers have the power to kill their enemies using thunder and lightning. They also both are able to alter their appearance. This lets them communicate with mortals at an intimate level. They also can regulate weather and are very powerful at sea.
Hades Hades, the Greek god of the underworld, is a mysterious and foreboding character. He is not as friendly or polite as Zeus or Poseidon and is known for his bad moods. His job is to punish the dead but he does it with compassion and fairness. Hades is the god of water. for all things related to water. Like his brother, he's extremely robust and can shake the earth with his trident. He also can create storms that can frighten ships immediately. He is the patron god of the sea and of horses. He is a god of danger and his anger is easily angered.
The most well-known story about the couple is their relationship with Persephone. She was the daughter Demeter and Zeus and was kidnapped for Hades. Despite her initially reluctance, Hades fell in love with her. This led him to negotiate with her that he would let her go back to his home in the underworld as long as she spent a fraction of each year on earth with him.
Persephone was reluctant to leave her worldly home and return to the realm of her father. Eventually, she agreed to the terms of the agreement. This is why it was among the rare occasions when Hades moved above ground.
How do they interact?
Zeus and Poseidon are two of the gods with the most power in mythology. They are the sons of Titan King Cronus and his wife Rhea and they overthrew their father and became the supreme rulers of Olympus. They divided their power and each was in charge of an area of the universe. Zeus received the sky and kingship, as well as dominion over the seas while Poseidon got the sky.
Although the brothers are close, they frequently battle with one another. Zeus is the oldest and most powerful of the three, so he tends to dominate his brother in most situations. He is the most violent and ruthless of the Olympians. He uses his power to kill those who bother his or frighten him.
But, he's a great father to his daughter Hera whom he considers as his most important offspring. She is a reliable companion and counselor, which is why she is highly valued by him. She is also able to confront her father's reckless and impulsive behavior.
Hades, unlike his sister, doesn't seem to have many of Zeus' traits. In some myths he seems to admire and desire the power that Zeus has, however in others, he acts in a sarcastic way towards his brother. He also expresses false condolences for his brother's abduction of Persephone which reveals that he's not really worried about the girl's disappearance.
Poseidon, the king of seas and earthquakes can trigger earthquakes storm surges and tsunamis. He is usually depicted with his trident in hand to show his power. He is also king of horses and is able to control any animal that lives within his realm. This includes land and sea creatures.
He is also a god of the Underworld. This means that he is able to summon souls or even banish them to life on Earth. He is typically depicted with his three-headed dog Cerberus by his side. He is also the keeper of the throne of the dead. This means he can judge the fates of souls, and send them either to paradise or hell.
What is the nature of their relationship?
Zeus, Hades and Poseidon were the children of Titan king Cronus and his sister Queen Rhea. In the Titanomachy they sacked their father, and then played lotteries to determine who would be the ruler of which realms. Hades received the Underworld, Zeus received the sky and heavens and Poseidon became god of the sea.
Each of these brothers controlled vast territories that were greater than anything that any god could do. They were intelligent and wise leaders who were proud of their power. They also were jealous of each other.
Zeus was jealous of his brother's love for Hera. He wanted her to himself. To obtain her, he kidnapped and took her to the Underworld. He forced her to drink the potion while she was there. This led to her becoming an Hebe and she refused to return to Demeter until after she had another child. This resulted in Persephone spending two-thirds of the time with Demeter and one-third with Hades. It also created the growing seasons.
During her time with Demeter she began to ignore her duties as the goddess of fertility. This angered Hades. He decided to reclaim her. He tricked her by changing himself into a disheveled cockoo. Being aware that she was a lover of animals, he placed her bird close to her chest and

After the marriage, Hades was a loving husband and father to their three children. He was insecure about his place on Mount Olympus.
