The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a good choice if you're looking for an affordable robot vacuum and mop. It provides a fantastic mopping experience, but doesn't have the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.

During testing it was able to take on dust and dry oats on medium-pile carpet and pet hair on hard flooring. It doesn't employ LIDAR, however, as other models do to identify your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It has a lot of features and impressive cleaning power, such as an area for dirt that is integrated into the charging base. It can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest automated schedules to ensure you have a hands-free experience.

Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once the system is in place, you can start automatic vacuum robot cleaning with a single button press. You can select an overall clean which focuses on the elimination of larger particles like cereal and rice. Or you can opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your entire home is cleaned thoroughly.

This robot vacuum performs well on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It sucks up large items and doesn't lose suction as quickly as other models do and can clean up pet hair with ease. It does have a hard time with high-pile or plush carpet, however iRobot promises it will improve with the next models.

The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that is focused on improving corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which will allow it to be able to swaddle furniture and walls. It's a nice change from the standard hockey puck shape of the majority of robovacs. However, we found it to be marginally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with a superior filtering system that stops tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating throughout your home. We like the claim however, it's not enough to justify a premium price.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors to remember the arrangement of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles like staircases and other barriers, and also to clean your entire home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, and create virtual boundary markers, so that it can recognize areas that require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a robotic that combines vacuuming and mopping. Its vac settings are just as effective as those on higher-end models and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a much better job of scrubbing floors than a stationary vibrating pad.

The only issue is the absence of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. But that's not a major issue for those who want to own one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than its competitors, and filling it up takes only two or three cycles, even when you have maximum dirt.

In terms of the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two lowest mopping settings, which are less powerful than high-powered settings, produce little noise, so you can work or watch television without getting distracted. It will gently bump into a wall or furniture and move on when it encounters one.

What really sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely on its own, with no need for user intervention. The dock of the robo-vac is multifunctional and will automatically move trash into a hidden bin. It also washes and dries the clean water tank. The app is capable of nagging you only when something needs attention, like the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled cleaning session being cancelled due to a stuffed dust bin.

You can also create or merge actual rooms to alter the way Q Revo handles your home. This is a great feature to have if you have several rooms in your home that have different floor materials or if there's a lot of items that need to be cleared out regularly, such as clothes, toys, and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was one of the top performers in my tests, robot vacuum and mop combo removing debris from both carpets and hardwood floors in the first attempt. It is able to even remove wet spills, though I recommend drying them with a cloth before sending the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that has all the features you could need. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum with a powerful suction to clean hard and carpet floors, and a rotating mop and vacuum combo robot that scrubs tough staining. It also comes with an automatic cleaning station that washes and empties mop pads to keep them clean and ready to be reused. It also features a new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture or other objects.

imageThe biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version is sleeker and more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still quite large. It has a height of more than two feet height and depth and weighs in at least four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.

This version is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it has faster battery charging and can handle a full cleaning of around 1,500 square feet in one charge. And it has a larger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when required.

The X2 Omni also has a more intuitive voice assistant and an app that can be used even if you are not at home. It also has an intelligent routing feature that lets it clean specific rooms or areas of your home, instead of following a predetermined route.

The X2 Omni is the top robot at mopping. Its rotating mop pads clean tough stains and its motor generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming capabilities are excellent too and it enhances suction when it senses carpets to ensure that it does the job well. It also has a large battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as powerful as the ones we've seen on an ordinary robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end mop and robot vacuum that comes with a range of convenience features that you aren't likely to find on robots of this price range. It can build detailed floor maps, identify different types of flooring, and it's one of the few robots that automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These are nice features however they can place the L10s in the class of luxury. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners want.

It is designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish that's highlighted by mirror-plated silver elements. The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper that helps protect furniture and the vacuum from damage when moving through the home. Behind the pane at the front is a second navigation technology with sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top, you'll find one button that acts as an on/off switch. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, and pressing it again will shut off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The circular menu located in the center of the control panel lets users to select cleaning options as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will open the app's settings menu where you can modify the way that the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
