WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter due to the need to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The
item level Upgrade upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher
item upgrader kit level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the
item upgrader mod is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each few weeks.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of
item upgrader kit upgraders in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with an The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Upgraders for items are available in many places on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and several new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will cost less, even when they belong to another set of gear.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones are reached.
Crests
Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific
item upgrade level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.
The use of these currencies isn't too difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. It's
Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character that will be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
